Hi guys, I wonder if anyone could shed some light on this issue, since the web is quite dry on this topic. I am about to replace a $$nokia$$ Cluster, configured with Cluster IPs with 2 slimservers running SPLAT. Can I configure a cluster the same way with SPLAT with buying ClusterXL. If yes could anyone give me hint where to get some docs about it. I did a test of it, but can figure out how to get the cluster IP running. thanks, mrserious

You just simply configure the shared cluster addresses you want in the Topology window of the gateway cluster object and install the rulebase. The cluster addresses are not visible with ifconfig on the box, it just magically works.

Hi, replacing Nokia Clusters with SPLAT may or may not be easy, it depends on the "Nokia specific" functionalities you are using. You should first check your Nokia configuration and compare it with the functionality SPLAT provides. One client had some issues with dhcp relay configurations and bootp clients after migrating from nokia to SPLAT. For Cluster XL: You only have to buy a Cluster XL license if you plan to implement load sharing, for "normal HA" (primary/backup) you don't need a cluster xl license (it is included). You just need a VPG (1st gateway) and one or more HVPG (2nd, 3rd.. gateway) (This applies only to the Pro/Enterprise License, NOT to Express) Regards, simon
