Sun X4200 servers

Hi there, does anybody else here run SPLAT on X4200's (or other similar Sun servers)? We are running it on a number of systems (R61) and it works very well, the only problem we have is monitoring the state of the hard disks (the actual disks rather than the array) and I was wondering if anybody else had any ideas? I've installed OpenIPMI on a test machine and it could talk to the management card but this probably isnt a supported method so I dont want to roll it out to production systems.

Any help would be appreciated, or any alternative methods other people use?
