Default Rotating log files on a weekly basis

Hi,

I'm looking to rotate files in /var/log on a weekly basis instead of when the file sizes reach to 65KB.

Does anyone know how I can go about doing this?

Thanks
Nolan

Look into /etc/cpshell/log_rotation.conf

You can create a new time (scheduled event) object with the schedule you want and then specify that object in the 'Schedule log switch to' field in the logs and masters section of your gateway's properties.

Thanks for the help!

I had a look at /etc/cpshell/log_rotation.conf, and from what I can see, I can change the maximum file size and the number of files I can keep, but it doesn't mention anything about rotating the log files on a weekly/monthly basis?

I'm obviously missing something there...Can someone shed some light on this issue for me?

Thanks again.

Nolan

On SPLAT it is not possible to rotate logs according to time, only file size. So you need to create your own script for rotation and add it to cron. Or, for example, you can try to install redhat logrotate package.
