Default Remote console to SPLAT EMC

Has anyone successfully hooked up a console server i.e Lantronix to a SPLAT Management console? We are migrating from a windows platform to SPLAT for our EMC and would like to be able to get Out of Band serial console capability to the box because it is offsite. The purpose is to be able to get to command line in case the LAN connection is unavailable for whatever reason.

RJ45 -> DB9F

Hi,

Yeh, got a couple of SPLAT boxes installed on HP DL380s using a cisco 2611 terminal server connected to serial ports using standard cisco rollover cable and RJ45-DB9 converters.

Sorry, no experience of the Lantronix box - can only be a case of wiring issues I would have thourght.

Phil.

Thanks. Will try that out. I figure it is some combo of sorts. Just got to find the right pieces of the puzzle. :-)

got it working. ended up making a connector as the one I used had a wire crossed for some reason. So.....

normal cat 5 cable from Lantronix SCSxx20 to DB9F
pin 2 -> pin 2 RX
pin 3 -> pin 3 TX
pin 5 -> pin 5 gnd

other ones are not required.
