Default Unknown Command

Hi People,
I am trying to perform some lab work to test the upgrade path from R55 on windows 2000 to NGZ on splat.
I have read alot of posts that talk about using various commands such as upgrade_export and so on.....but I cannot even use "cd" in the splat terminal as I get the unknown command error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
IJ
