- Strong UNIX/LINUX system administration and support experience on Sun Solaris/Red Hat LINUX, which goes hand-in hand with the Checkpoint UNIX-based platform on Provider-1 management server and firewalls gateways
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux-based CheckPoint CLI tools and understanding their implications
- Proficiency in troubleshooting CheckPoint management platform and firewall gateways from CLI
- Proficiency in network Diagnostics tools such as tcpdump and fw monitor
- Strong experience with UNIX shell scripting or Perl scripting.
- Maintains system reliability and coordinate upgrades and maintenance for all sites.
- Configure and deploy Checkpoint firewalls based on a Linux platform.
- Conduct root cause diagnosis & troubleshooting, perform enhancements, and implement solutions to firewall management platform, operating system, protocols and components.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues as they arise in DMZ Silos. This includes access from Internet and Intranet to Web servers and other DMZ devices.
- Investigate, document, and deploy changes needed to implement requests from business lines. This includes any Checkpoint firewall changes as well as router changes. Work with Information security to verify changes are actually needed and conform to Bank standards. Implement change request. Test with clients, and maintain firewall change.
- Resolve any issues that do not allow network management devices to poll infrastructure for any failures. Primarily but not limited to routing and filtering issues.
- Assist Network Operations during production outages as well as knowledge base during their investigations
