Check Point certificiation is a plus.

Configure and maintain security systems in accordance with security policies and practices. Review IDS, Firewall and systems logs for evidence of potential legitimate attacks.
Provide vulnerability assessments for new system deployments using security software tools and best practice expertise. Provide technical assistance to clients on system deployments and architecture as it applies security policy compliance.
Monitor and research relevant vendor mailing-list/newsgroups to identify potential vulnerabilities which possess risk to the network environment. Research, evaluate, implement and troubleshoot network security systems in support of company initiatives and projects.

Bachelors degree in computer science or the equivalent and 4+ years progressive experience in IT security.

Must posses a strong understanding of networking concepts and devices (switches, hubs, routers, firewalls, VPN)

Solid understanding of networking technologies and protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, IP routing, BGP, etc.)
Must have a good understanding of network security concepts including encryption techniques, firewall technologies and security tools

Check Point certification a plus
Strong understanding of Unix Operating Systems
DNS Experience a plus
IDS/Sourcefire Experience a plus
