Re: Checkpoint CCSE Plus - 156-515 The ATRG used to be useful information for exam prep, but there is no NGX version of that available yet. It should still cover many of the topics though. If you can get the course notes for the MIII course, they are the best thing to have, as they cover all the sections you need. Regards whether it is worth getting, I have seen a few contracts listing it as a desirable. Mostly it's just CCSE though. However just because you haven't seen any jobs specifically requesting it doesn't really mean a huge amount. It doesn't necessarily mean that it won't look good on your CV. I actually found that the CCSE+ cert has the most relevant information for my job, but I guess it depends on what you do. I don't think that you should be doing those certs purely to get a job though - I find that studying the material teaches me new stuff, and helps me solve various problems I'm faced with. Sometimes doing the cert is just to focus your study. Doing a certification can be useful if you want to change your career direction a bit though - e.g. if you work with Check Point and a little Cisco, but want to do more Cisco work, then doing Cisco certifications could help get that new contract with a different direction. If you only do a certification to get a job paying a certain amount, then you're going to find it pretty boring. I like to at least have a bit of interest in what I'm studying. |
