Well done for the high mark, you must be very pleased. Hmmm, that seems odd - I thought that command showed you the status of the devices being monitored - in the official CheckPoint manual, it does say fw ctl pstat - and it even gives a question with that answer for synchronisation information. Now I am scratching my head!! cphaprob -a if (View the state of the cluster member interfaces and the virtual cluster interfaces) cphaprob -i list - (View the list of critical devices on a cluster member) What other questions did you have that weren't on pass4sure (or were they very similiar).

I've just been doing a little reading and now it does make sense Monitoring Critical Devices (cphaprob list) When a critical device fails, the cluster member is considered to have failed. To see the list of critical devices on a cluster member, and of all the other machines in the cluster, run the following command on the cluster member: cphaprob [-i[a]] [-e] list There are a number of built-in critical devices, and the administrator can define additional critical devices. The default critical devices are: • The cluster interfaces on the cluster members. • Synchronization—full synchronization completed successfully. • Filter—the Security Policy, and whether it is loaded. • cphad—which follows the ClusterXL process called cphamcset. • fwd—the VPN-1 Power daemon. So it does show if full synchronisation is working. fw ctl pstat also tells you abut sync status too though.

I huge thanks to debian - you have to read the question carefully, it asks you about the 'status' the command cphaprob -i list does give you the status of synchronization - the others will give you the stats of the packets sent and received.

Thanks for everybodies help - managed to clear the CCSE with 98% today. I still didn't agree with some of the answers and that's why I dropped a couple of questions, but I couldn't bring myself to put down what I didn't agree with, silly me!!
