Default VMWare version license .

Hi all,

I have finally installed the vmware version today and surprisingly discovered that it has limited time license. It has only an evaluation license for the next 15 days. Left aside the question about the causes (don’t these guys want everybody to learn, certify and use their product?) I have one of my own – does it mean I’ll loose my entire configuration after this period of time and will be obliged to start anything from scratch? I know there is a possibility to save the policy in the dashboard but the question is if I have to use “cleanly installed” vmware image after those 15 days in order to get an working system again OR there is some sort of license I may acquire for the system (after all it’s only a vmware image, not a “real life” firewall)?

In any case, I think many of the participants of this forum tried those images – how did you solved it guys?

Many thanks, have a charming day :)

The VM is a demo version only. There is no reason you cannot apply a real license to it. As for losing the config to get the eval going again, yes.
