derspot, did my ccsa on NG AI (not sure how this differs from the NGX one) and don't remember there being a lot of CLI questions. Think you'll probably be fine with the basics for the exam e.g fw ver, fw unloadlocal, fw stat etc. There is a CLI pdf availible at checkpoint so download it and make sure you know the basics to be on the safe side. Good luck with the exam, Joncon

CP is pretty much the No1 corporate firewall solution in the UK. I am surprised the guys you spoke to said CP was rare in the US I would have thought it would be pretty popular over there too seeing as checkpoint claims to supply 100% of Fortune100 companies.

Thant's what i thought too. THe guy is from certicities.com and he is really experienced - has like 20 certs - which means that he knows this and that. 1 thing I know is that the US Gov. for sure doesn't use CP because , they want to have access to the soruce code of anything they use and CP would not give that out.

I would be very surprised. If CP products are 'rare' in the US but then again can't confirm as most of my experience has been in UK and europe. Maybe the guy from certcities was trying to sell you a PIX course as he doesn't know CP ;-)

The US gov *does* use CheckPoint FW-1 extensively - this is certain. According to some guys at CheckPoint, the NSA has actually done a deal with CHKP and gotten access to and audited the source code.
