Default Passed Exam Today=)

Studied on my own for 2 months and managed to pass the 156-215.1 exam today.

Material used to study: NGX R60 rev 1.1 docs from checkpoints website, syngress study guide.

MY SCORE: 71%
Disaster Recovery 80%
Network Address Translation 50%
Encryption and VPNs 66%
Authentication 83%
Security Policy 66%
SmartDefense 75%
LDAP User Management with SmartDirectory 50%
VPN-1 NGX Overview 75%
Monitoring Traffic and Connections 83%

Not a great score but definately good for being my first certification ever=).

jesprile.. Using testking and the like to pass exams cheapens the certification for the rest of us that actually spent considerable time learning, testing theories in labs etc etc, and only goes as far as proving that you do not have the adequate skills nor the relevant experience to be attempting the certification.

For all of our sakes, dont proceed with any Check Point certifications if your intent is to just use testkings to get the cert without wanting to actually learn the products or technology.

Your approach is the reason employers and people in the market think less of certifications.

here you go, will need a user center account to download,

http://www.checkpoint.com/support/te.../docs_r61.html

also, the docs for R62 are out know, so probably worth using them

http://www.checkpoint.com/support/te.../docs_r62.html

FWIW, I used the R60 docs & syngress book, plus hand-on experience to pass this exam earlier in the year.

Hi.
Congrats on passin the exam. The docs R61 contains many pdf files. Any suggestion as to what among those is needed for the NGX or NG certification or do we have to read the whole lot...
Cheers,
GSP

The Firewall/Smartdefense one contains a lot of information that was on the exam. NAT & Smartdefense in particular.

Also had several questions from the Smartcenter pdf, has a lot of good info relating to LDAP & SmartView tracker.
