| no, the official testking http://www.testking.com/156-215.htm and prometricvue.com (the discount version of testking) always call the 156-215.1 as 156-215 this is the last version 56-215.1 , dont look the name. |

| Hi there, can anyone tell me please what the differences are between the Prometricvue and TestKing versions of the 156-215.1 test? How can Prometricvue sell the same tests for US$40 cheaper than TestKing when they are their reseller? Is their less content, advertising? If I can shell out US$29 for the Prometricvue version, why would I want to spend the extra US$40? What's the benefit? Any help greatly appreciated. __________________ I desire to know all things -Leonardo da Vinci |

| Prometricvue are 100% testkings. They are resellers. Prometricvue purchases one copy from TK for the higher cost, then sells it for a lower cost and ends up selling enough to recoupe it's capital cost as well as gain more due to the cheaper selling price than TK. |

| Thanks for that, although my main focus is on acquiring the knowledge through hands-on, if it will help me pass the exam in the meantime so I can move on to CCSE training, all the better:-) Kind Regards Davinci1969 __________________ I desire to know all things -Leonardo da Vinci |

| Hi guys, I'm also studying for the 156-215.1 NGX exam, I have finished the Syngress book and played with the product in a lab environment. I have proper hands on experience with checkpoint but that was this FW-1 when it was Version 4. Im taking my exam on the 11th of August and have recently bought the lastest testking (updates 02/07/06). Can anyone tell me who has used the test king (and taken the exam) if it covers the majority of the questions in the exam ? I don't normally believe in using brain dumps but in this instance i have hands on experience, study experience and it is vital I pass this exam first time - as I'm leaving the UK soon after and I HAVE to pass. Any info would be great thanks Matt |

I typed out a big reply to you on Saturday but got timed out before I finished it :-) I have just put another post in mentioning this but thought I would reply here as well. As you are probably aware, things have definitely changed alot since version 4. Also things like SmartDefense have created a whole new scope of questions that Check Point test on these days (however, this does mean the emphasis comes off NATing a little bit). Your TestKing will be good for about 24 questions almost exactly word for word. There are a few more I recognised but they were not in the same format of the question that I remember. The latest version (version 7) of the TestKing has added 5 questions that all have no answer yet (only a 'Pending' answer) and have obviously been hastely written as there are alot of typos and even a missing diagram. If I can offer some advise as to time best spent it would be this. Memorise your TestKing but be aware that it will only cover 24 questions exactly. You still need to answer another 25 right to get to 70%. There will be a couple of easy questions around rule placement for implicit rules which you may be able to pick up a few more on. Be aware thought that your main enemy (once you have studied), will be time. I could not believe how many questions were scenario-based (such as question 61 in the TestKing) with the question taking up the entire page and meaning you spend most of the time rereading the question to determine the correct answer. If you have previous NATing experience then you are definitely going to score a few points there. If you have not had a role with a trouble-shooting capacity then you will need to brush up on NATing. SmartDefense and Disaster Recovery are your other main areas. Know how to trouble-shooting Web Intelligence setup problems and really focus on backing up, restoring and restoring individual components from the command-line as this will help no end. Good luck Matt and let me know how you go. Kind Regards Davinci1969 __________________ I desire to know all things -Leonardo da Vinci |

| thanks I have pm'd you. I'm taking my exam on the 10th of august so not long to go :( Are you using CP ngx in a lab environment for practise ? just going to install mine in vmware, I have read a NG book and the Syngress NGX book cover to cover. Hopefully things should start becoming more apparent when I use the software - I always prefer to read about things before I use them. I have seen a few people mention a question regarding 'collisions' in ngx, did you figure that one out ? |

| Hi Matt, I have Check Point eval in our testbed but did not have it ready in time for my first sit of the exam. I will be using it before resitting for focusing on configuring against Web Intelligence Attacks and doing backups and partial restores. Also for configuring manual NAT's. What I liked about the Syngress book was the dteails it went into for Session Authentication as that was not covered in the courseware at all. The Syngress book is a great help as it clarifites alot of things nicely. I forgot to mention that one of the backup questions asks which particular method you would use and there is mention of the Upgrade utility on the CD to Export and Import. It would pay to read about this more if you can find it in the Check Point NGX PDF's. I kind of remember the question. I didn't want to mention it as I wasn't certain. However, the question is doesn't mention it, only one of the available answers. The question has something to do with a status showing in SmartView Monitor from memory and the Collision answer is about there being two different versions of the policy? A bit fuzzy sorry.
