Default LDAP

Hello,

just a quick one - do you need a CheckPoint license when using LDAP SmartDirectory?

I don't want to add or edit users on the SmartCenter Server, just authenticate them via a Microsoft WIndows 2003 Domain Controller. I've configured an Account Unit and can browse the users, but it doesn't seem to authenticate until I check SmartDirectory in Global Properties and that's when it complains about not having a license.

Is there any part of LDAP integration that you can use without a valid license?

Thank you

Pippa

Default Re: LDAP

you need LDAP license which is a ripped of I think. Why not just use
Internet Authentication Service (IAS) to authenticate with checkpoint?
That is free and easy to setup.
