Default Client Authentication and HTTPS

Hi
Have Checkpoint NG - am currently working at enabling OWA for staff on the internet.
If I add the rule:

ANY - Valid_OWA - HTTPS - Accept this works - but relies only on MS Authentication.

I wanted to add a second layer of authentication at the checkpoint level - so addedd in rule:

RAS@any - Valid_OWA&Firewall - HTTPS - Client Authentication(partial)

This did not prompt for authentication and the page timed out. When I also added in HTTP for the protocol I began to get the firewall logon and could connect to OWA - but only if I opened a second IE window.
Query is - it is possible to authenticate using HTTPS? And what can I do to get the authentication working properly? Am I missing something here??
thanks in advance.

Suzy
