| User Groups only allowed in Authentication Rules Question I have the following rule: 7 Trusted-Users@Trusted-host network-A20 ftp telnet accept ... network-B21 When I tried to install it, I get the following error: Rule 7: User Groups are allowed only on Authentication Rules I started experiencing this error after installing the permanent license key. Is this caused by not having authentication enabled in the license? I started experiencing this error on Friday after installing the license on Thursday. What is causing this error? Answer The above error message has nothing to do with licensing. If you specify a user or a group of users in the 'Source' field, you MUST specify an action with authentication in the 'Action' field. With FireWall?-1, you can control direct connection from host-to-host authenticated connection from user@host to host but you cannot control direct connection from user@host to host Changing the value of 'Action' from 'accept' to 'User Auth' will fix the problem. -- PhoneBoy - 30 Dec 2003 FAQForm FAQs.Class: AuthenticationFAQs, TroubleshootingFAQs OperatingSystem?: FAQs.Version: |
