| From an email I got from Check Point today: Quote:

| Even if there was one, nobody could ever hope to stay certified with the frequency they re-brand the licenses and features. :P __________________ There's no place like 127.0.0.1 |

| I was somewhat surprised by this also. I was confident everyone saw it as an April Fool's joke and to make sure I ended it by saying the exams would start on the "first day of Q2", which is... ...April 1st. And then I pulled it before the day was over. And I didn't post it anywhere else or e-mail it to anyone. Is it possible Check Point was really considering some sort of licensing certification and now they're really pissed because CPUG beat them to it, but with a parody? There was a pretty strong reaction from the Training and Certification department. I wish I knew what was going on there. By the way, it was shockingly easy to put that together. I just found one of their recent press releases, changed a few things around, and copied over some marketing phrases from their website. It took about twenty minutes. I was genuinely surprised at how completely legitimate it looked, except for the fact that the concept was ludicrous. It even had the extremely low content/bullshit ratio present in most press releases. (Rubbing my hands together, thinking about next April) __________________ Barry J.
