It's strange. I tried sometimes backup --scp --sched without problems.
Did you send the error from /var/log/messages file? May be this file has more detalied error's description.
In any case, imho, you can try to debug session from server side or edit crontab and try to backup by "x x x * * backup -d --scp xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx user pass" |
