Let's see:
Required objective: Security Policy Repository backed up at least daily - well, we've got a daily upgrade_export running, so check.
Desired objective: Enforcement modules backed up at least weekly - SPLAT backup configured every Sat night, so check
Desired objective: Back up logs at least weekly - check, since he's doing it nightly - but the desired objective is also that you be able to view backed up logs in Tracker - which you can't do with exported logs (unless something's changed recently).
Not that doing a logexport is necessarily a bad thing, it means you can read them in future with pretty much any OS/application. It's hard enough trying to track down 4.1 clients these days - in 5 years time it will be the same for NGX clients.
So your choice seems OK. |
