If you have been paying Checkpoint software subscriptions on your firewall sw you are entitled to upgrade to the latest version for free.
When you talk about the hardware spec for SPLAT min recommended spec for NGX R61 is:-
P111 300 + MHz
4GB Disk
512 Mbytes RAM.
You should also consider what this machine is going to be used for and how much resilience you need (smartcenter mgmt server with distributed enforcement modules or a centralised "all in one machine" as this will obviously have an affect on the performance. Don't think you need ultra machine here. IMHO dual proc will be a bit overkill. But my philosophy is get the best machine you can afford (obviously without going crazy). |
