Re: IP440 Additional Question If you're really going for unsupported and you're not married to Nokia technology, you can hook up a monitor and keyboard and load SPLAT on it. I'm currently trying out R61 over SPLAT on a old retired IP440. The IP440 is just a fancy case on a PIII Motherboard. The BIOS doesn't really even support console redirect to the serial port, as you don't get any display on the serial port until the OS comes up a little bit. The later IP series boxes have better BIOS support for headless configs plus the boot flash. The IP440 just isn't that sophisticated. (actually The case is pretty nice, I have considered putting a really fast twin processor motherboard in it and scare the Cisco rep when he comes by to push the PIX stuff at me -- "my old hardware beats your pix... no thanks" :) Last edited by gt2847c; 2006-08-03 at 11:55. |
