For the "Why" part you would have to ask Gil & Company. There is AFAIK no official EOS date yet. The SKU has been removed from the public price list but it still orderable, at least for existing customers.

What is the replacement for it and how does it compare in price/functionality?
This is a longer one. I'm am only going to talk about this from the Windows side, as the Linux and Mac clients do not have the full functionality.

SecureClient has been replaced with Check Point Endpoint Security (CPES) - Secure Access (SA).

From a client standpoint, this product supplies all of the IPSec VPN and Authentication functionality of SecureClient. It does not support SCV checks or a desktop policy.

Additionaly it supports network firewall, application control, SmartDefense, Compliance Checking (e.g. the former Integrity product) and anti-malware (Anti-spyware and Anti-virus).

From a licensing standpoint, in addition to the full client license you also receive a matching SecureClient stand-alone license and a matching SSL Network Extender (SNX) license.

From a price standpoint, CPES-SA is sold by tier per-unit (No more packs of 25). US list price as of today is:

1-99 $60/seat
99-4,999 $50/seat
5,000+ $30/seat

Finally, Secure Access is available as part of the CPES Total Security bundle which also includes Full Disk Encryption (FDE/Pointsec4PC) and "Port Protection and Media Encryption" (PPME/Pointsec Protector) for $165/125/85 per seat (Which is the same as buying FDE & PPME seperatly)
