Has anyone ever attempted to have VPN Tunnel (Site-2-Site) monitored and set up to receive notification (SNMP ideally) on VPN Tunnel "status change" that presents a "broken" tunnel? ( hate to hear from user.-> " VPN Tunnel is not working!!...")

Even if not tried, any idea how one may go about this?
