Default SMTP Security

As far as I know, Checkpoint only does firewalls. Therefore, this is probably a stupid question. With that being said, is there a functionality, or service, that checkpoint can use to strip, and hold, mail message attachments which have been withheld a created SMTP proxy? Presently, we are running into a problem with our makeshift SMTP proxy snagging MIME attachments. The other solution that I would think probable is to allow MIME and let the application layer security grab it at the mail server, which allows for release of undesired attachments in the case it is a false positive.

If anyone has a moment to share their thoughts on this, I would be most appreciative. Thanks!
