Pretty close, as I recall.
R55 is the main version. It works on all supported operating systems.
R55P was a special version that only runs on IPSO 3.8 variants.
R55W does have improved SmartDefense, but it seems to have been lightly adopted. It was an interim version developed for a few major customers that could not wait for NGX for some reason. It did things like block peer-to-peer traffic on any port as opposed to plain old R55, which could only block it on known ports.
