What's the Main Presentation?
Nortel Networks (one of our founding sponsors) will present a technical
under-the-hood lecture and demonstration of the Alteon Switched Firewall System.
This system protects high-traffic IT data centers, service provider networks,
and hosting infrastructures using unique accelerator technology and Check Point
FW-1 NG software. Q&A will follow. Find out more before the meeting
at
Nortel
Networks.
Where is the Meeting?
Nortel Networks meeting room (next to the cafeteria)
4655 Great America Parkway
Santa Clara, CA
95054
How Do I Get There?
Nortel Networks is on Great America Parkway in Santa Clara, about a mile east
of Hwy 101 (before you get to Tasman Drive). You'll see the big Nortel
Networks sign on the building.
Don't be fooled by the office building on the opposite side of Great America
Parkway with "4655" on the side; it's on a side street and is a nice
navigational landmark, but it’s the wrong building. The Mapquest map is
also somewhat deceptive; Nortel Networks is on the right hand (South) side when
coming from Hwy 101.
Parking?
Around back, in the parking structure.
Do I Need to RSVP?
Please RSVP to
bjstiefel@cpug.org! We need to plan ahead (especially since we're
providing dinner)!
Do You Need Volunteers?
Yes! Hosting a high quality user group meeting takes a lot of work.
Please contact Barry Stiefel ("Stee-ful") at
bjstiefel@cpug.org to offer some help. It will probably be as simple
as showing up a half hour early. Also, volunteering is how members earn
the right to be on the Board of Directors.
What Does It Cost?
Nothing. Your first meeting is always free. Dinner is always
free.
Is It True What I've Heard About Your Library?
Yes. We have an extensive library
that's constantly growing. Members make check anything
out, for free.
How Do I Find Out More?
The Check Point User Group is at
www.cpug.org.
This announcement is at
http://www.cpug.org/monthly_meeting_announcement.htm
How Do I Get this Announcement Automatically in the Future?
Sign up on our self-managed opt-in
mailing list.
Is This an "Official" User Group Sponsored by Check Point?
No. CPUG (The Check Point User Group) is an independent user group for Check
Point implementers, and is not sponsored, approved or endorsed by Check Point.
However, they’re active participants and colleagues.
Who Are the Sponsors?
We have two founding sponsors:
Nortel Networks: The Alteon Switched Firewall System
Resilience Corporation: High-Availability Security Appliances For
Firewall-1
You can meet with them at the meeting!
Whom Do I Contact If I Have Questions Or Wish To Volunteer?
